In modern culture we often hear people reference advice such as “keep your energy high” or “have a high vibe.” But what do these phrases actually mean, and why are they significant? To delve into this, we need to differentiate between two commonly misunderstood concepts: energy and vibration.

What is Energy?
When we refer to energy in this sense, we’re not talking about your physical state of being tired or alert. In this context, energy is misidentified with your emotions and mood. Many people believe that their energy fluctuates based on how they feel at any given moment. For instance, if you’re experiencing mood swings, you may believe that your “energy” will vary throughout the day. A positive mood is often mistakenly identified as high energy, while a negative mood is considered low energy.
Your energy, however, isn’t influenced by your emotions. Your identity, which is how you perceive yourself on a subconscious level, is what creates what many refer to as your energy in this context. If you identify as someone who is confident and assertive, this identity will be a part of your energy. Similarly, if your identity is someone who is timid or insecure, this will create your energy.
Understanding Vibration
As a different and more scientific concept, we know that everything is energy. Everything in the universe is energy, and energy vibrates. This includes everything we can’t see, such as our thoughts and emotions. This vibration of something is measured by its frequency, or speed that the vibration is fluctuating at.
Each person has a frequency that can be measured and it’s essential to note that your frequency (or vibe as some call it) doesn’t fluctuate with your mood.
The Impact of Energy and Vibration on Your Life
Why does all of this matter? The significance lies in how others can perceive your energy on a subconscious level. When your identity isn’t in alignment with your actions, others can sense it in your energy. And even though they won’t consciously recognize the disconnect, it will be perceived by their subconscious.
As an example, if your subconscious identity is rooted in feelings of unworthiness or insecurity, this can manifest in your energy, potentially driving away partners or new opportunities.
On the flip side, your “vibe” or vibration can also be sensed at a subconscious level, and the higher it is, the more magnetic or influential your words and actions will become. Your frequency can and should be intentionally worked on and raised, for a variety of benefits covered in this article, along with how to go about it.
