Understanding Frequency and Vibration, Benefits of a High Vibration and How to Raise Your Frequency

Frequency and vibration are often talked about and misunderstood, so in this article you will learn exactly what frequency and vibration means, the benefits of having a high frequency, and how to go about raising your frequency – or having a “high vibe”.

What Does Frequency and Vibration Mean?

At the most basic level, everything in the universe – and beyond – is energy. That means everything is made up of sub atomic particles that vibrate.

This is the universal Law of Vibration – everything is energy and vibrates. A “universal law” just means that it always holds true.

When something vibrates, it does this in a regular rhythm or pattern which is known as a frequency. In order for your vibration to “raise” it will need to vibrate at a higher or faster frequency.

Why Would You Want to Raise Your Vibration?

Human frequency is measured in bio-energy units. These frequencies are often associated with the emotions that resonate at those frequencies. 

Lower frequency emotions are dense, heavy and feel contracted. Emotions such as despair and anger are at the bottom of the human frequency scale; and emotions such as bliss, joy and unconditional love are at the highest frequencies we can attain.

Having a frequency that is in the same frequency as a particular emotion does not mean that you feel that emotion all of the time – this is often misunderstood. It does mean that, however, that it’s easier for you to get to that emotion and experience it more often.

In other words, if you have a higher frequency, or a high vibe, it will be easier for you to experience those more pleasant, desirable emotions more often.

Remember that emotions are driven by our thoughts and not outside circumstances. Regardless of external situations, you will be able to manage your thoughts and experience more pleasant emotions more often… you will be a happier person.

Many people refer to this a building your emotional intelligence (which is fluid and not something you’re born with) or raising your consciousness.

Benefits of Raising Your Frequency

  • As stated above, it becomes easier as your frequency rises to manage your thoughts and emotions and to be a happier person.
  • Although it’s not obvious to most people, others can “sense” your energy. As your frequency rises you become more magnetic, meaning they may not know why but others will want to be around you.
  • It becomes easier to accomplish your goals. Your goals have a frequency and you will need to match it, or have a higher frequency than your goals in order to create them. This is the Law of Creation (many call it the Law of Attraction). It tells us that like frequencies attract each other and you have to be in energetic alignment to your goals in order to create and hold on to them.

How to Raise Your Vibration

Like most goals, you will want to know your starting point so that you can be intentional in mapping a course forward and measuring your progress. Sign-up for my free training on how to measure your frequency, and receive the chart for the levels of consciousness (or human frequencies).

After you’ve determined your starting point, you will want to measure your frequency weekly, to ensure it is moving upward.

In August of 2023, there was a massive expansion in the frequencies available to us, and this is making it easier for everyone to raise their frequency because the frequencies want to rise.  If you find that your frequency has stayed the same for over a month, it is “stuck” and in need of an energetic intervention.

There are two things that may be happening –

a. You have trapped emotions that are holding it in place or
b. You need to integrate higher frequencies around you to help “lift” your frequency.

What are Trapped Emotions and How Do You Deal with Them?

Humans are emotional creatures. We are always in some kind of emotional state, created by our thoughts. This is why learning to manage our thoughts is such a powerful practice. And emotions are energy. The energy of most emotions will dissipate quickly, but when emotions are strong or held for a longer period of time, or habitually, and are of a lower, heavier frequency (i.e. the unpleasant emotions), they can become trapped in our body or energy field.

And these trapped dense emotions will keep your frequency from raising. If you aren’t trained in energy alignment work, you will need some help finding and diffusing the trapped emotions. This is something we do monthly on our group energy calls in the Rising Tide Sisterhood.

How do You Encourage Your Frequency to Rise?

If you have determined that there are no trapped emotions holding your frequency in place, and it still hasn’t gone up in a month’s time, then you need to take some proactive measures to encourage it.

  1. If your frequency is under 1000 b.e.u.s, you will need to work on managing your thoughts and emotions. Staying in a more positive state will allow your frequency to rise.
  2. If your frequency is already over 1000 b.e.u.s, your current emotional state is no longer effecting your frequency.
  3. Review the people you are around most often. Although you may not know their frequency or vibe, you know if they are generally positive or chronically negative and complaining. You will need to set boundaries and limit your time spent around this dense energy which may be impacting your ability to raise your frequency.
    Review your environment. If a room feels heavy, it is likely to have a lower frequency and be impacting your ability to raise your frequency. Start by reviewing your bedroom where you spend the most time. Removing clutter is a first step everyone can take to improve the energy and lift the frequency of a room.

There are a multitude of benefits from raising your vibration, as we covered above. The first step is to be aware of where your frequency is currently and then to become intentional about allowing it to lift.
